Rule TWU Rep Was ‘Sexist’ But Didn’t Harass Supervisor

A union representative did not sexually harass a supervisor but merely made “inappropriate sexist remarks,” an arbitrator ruled last week, denying the Metropolitan Transportation Authority the right to fire him.

The ruling paves the way for Tony Aiken, an elected Transport Workers Union Local 100 official and Bus Operator, to return to work but allows the MTA to suspend him for 10 days without pay and to require him to attend sensitivity training.
