A former investment manager for the New York State Common Retirement Fund was sentenced July 12 to 21 months in prison for his role in running a pay-for-play scheme with two financial firms.
Navnoor Kang, 39, now of Los Angeles, was “bought off with jewelry, cash, drugs, strippers and prostitutes,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said in a statement. He netted more than $100,000, prosecutors said.
