New York State legislators and other elected officials, including Governor Cuomo, are set to receive their first raise in two decades, and become the nation’s best-paid in their jobs.
A panel of four current and former Comptrollers on Dec. 6 recommended that pay for the state’s 213 legislators be increased to $130,000 by 2021. The 63 Senators and 150 Assembly Members, who currently make $79,500, will be bumped to $110,000 next year and to $120,000 in 2020.
