Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña honored 14 custodial workers March 9 for going beyond their typical job duties of maintaining and cleaning schools across the city.
It was the first annual ceremony for this group of workers, who are members of International Union of Operating Engineers locals 891 and 94, as well as Local 32BJ of the Service Employees International Union.
