Staff members at two struggling high schools that are part of the Department of Education’s “Renewal” schools program, including one school where the Principal has been removed, must reapply for their jobs in the next few months.

Teachers, guidance counselors and other staff members at Flushing High School, which has had seven Principals over the past eight years, and DeWitt Clinton High in The Bronx, will have to reapply for their positions or apply to be placed in other schools, Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña announced Oct. 19. More than 120 staff members will be affected at Flushing High School; 96 will be affected at Clinton.
