Though United Federation of Teachers President Michael Mulgrew is heavily favored to be re-elected to his third full term next month, the two dissident candidates opposing him said they were confident their coalitions would get sizable support, reflecting dissatisfaction with a leadership they accused of not adequately fighting school privatization and deteriorating work conditions.
Ballots will be sent to members May 5 and counted May 26.
