The New York Power Authority’s board of directors ratified a contract extension Aug. 7 with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers that covers more than 550 employees of the agency, which provides nearly a quarter of the state’s electricity.
At the same meeting, the Canal Corporation board of directors approved a 10-year contract with the Public Employees Federation. The Canal Corporation is a subsidiary of NYPA.
