Vito Mustaciuolo, General Manager at the Housing Authority, defended the city’s agreement with the Federal Government that places the agency under a monitor that departing Interim Chair Stanley Brezenoff said left the city with the short end of the stick.
Mr. Brezenoff told The New York Times Feb. 11 that he refused to sign the settlement, which was reached Jan. 31 and established deadlines for NYCHA to reduce the number of heating outages and inspect and abate lead-paint conditions, because it did not commit additional funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
