A union that represents more than 150,000 Federal workers in 33 different agencies has filed a lawsuit that alleges the ongoing government shutdown violates the Fair Labor Standards Act because it requires Federal employees to work without pay.
The complaint was filed Jan. 9 in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims on behalf of Albert Vieira, a Customs and Border Protection Officer stationed at the southern border.
