Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill promoted 183 officers and 59 civilians in ceremonies at Police Headquarters July 27, including eight senior-management upgrades.
Paul A. DeEntremont, executive officer of the Detective Bureau, is one of four new Deputy Chiefs. He joined the NYPD in July 1987. He has also commanded the offices of the Deputy Commissioner of Operations and the Chief of Crime Control Strategies, and the 47th and 48th precincts. He was executive officer of the 40th and 46th precincts, the Central Robbery Division and the Fugitive Enforcement Division.
