MTA Takes Steps to Credit Sick Time Of Staff With 9/11-Related Ailments

Belatedly moving to comply with a law enacted last year by Governor Cuomo, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has restored 59 sick days that a Bus Operator used while battling World Trade Center-related prostate cancer.

The move came after transit-union leaders in interviews scorched the agency for ignoring the law that requires state agencies, authorities and municipalities outside New York City to honor sick-time requests by their employees fighting WTC-related ailments.
