MTA: Rising Pension and Health Spending Exceeds Fare-Hike Gain

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s spiraling costs dwarf the added revenues from this month’s fare hikes, and agency Budget Director Douglas Johnson March 5 identified employee health and pension costs as a major part of that drain.
