Shortly before the end of a 70-minute appearance last week at the American Enterprise Institute, Eva Moskowitz, CEO of the Success Academy charter network, stated her network would triple in size to 100 schools in the next 10 years, with many offering pre-kindergarten through high school.
Throughout her Dec. 9 address and Q&A before the conservative group, which was streamed over the Internet, she talked about her schools’ origins and the pedagogical advantages she said boosted her model. With more than 9,000 students in 32 schools, Ms. Moskowitz said the enrollment of her network, launched in 2006, made it equivalent to the seventh-largest school district in New York State.
