The Municipal Credit Union reported that its membership grew to 375,000 last year, making it the largest credit union in the state, while its total assets rose $141.7 million and now exceed $2.1 billion.
“We’ve certainly come a long way since our humble beginnings with a single branch in the Municipal Building many years ago,” said MCU President/CEO Kam Wong. He reported that MCU’s loan portfolio has now reached $1.3 billion, and it has launched a comprehensive college student banking program that coincided with its making City University of New York students eligible for membership.
