After 16 years as an elected Uniformed Fire Officers Association official, Fire Lieut. James McGowan will shift his attention to Albany this fall as the new secretary-treasurer of the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association.
Mr. McGowan will be retiring in a few weeks from the FDNY, where he just completed 30 years of service. He previously served as executive vice president of the state firefighters’ group in addition to holding the Lieutenant’s-representative seat at the UFOA.
