Calling it a “beautiful day” for the city, Mayor de Blasio last week lauded slight progress in raising state test scores for middle-school students.
The figures for the third-through-eighth-grade English and Math tests, released Aug. 12 by the State Education Department, showed that students across nearly all demographic and grade-level categories made small gains in their assessments in the first full school year of the de Blasio administration.
