The tragic death of 4-year-old Myls Dobson, who suffered abuse and neglect at the hands of his incarcerated father’s girlfriend before dying in a midtown high-rise Jan. 8, prompted calls for changes in state law from Mayor de Blasio, who said Administration for Children’s Services workers should have better access to court records and broader supervisory authority.
But he also questioned why those workers didn’t do more to ascertain why the father was never available when they visited in the months just prior to the child’s murder.
