While Mayor de Blasio testified in Albany before the committee for nearly four hours on the issue of mayoral control of the city public schools back on May 4, he was a conspicuous no-show last week at the panel’s second public hearing on the subject—this one at 250 Broadway, literally across the street from City Hall.
