More than 98 percent of the rank-and-file members of Communications Workers of America Local 1180 who cast votes chose to ratify the wage contract reached last month with the de Blasio administration. Of 4,816 ballots returned on the deal—which will run to May 5, 2018 and give members 10-percent raises over seven years—only 93 were against it, the local said March 11.
The 91-month pact is consistent with the terms ratified by members of District Council 37 last summer, including a $1,000 lump-sum bonus. Members will receive 3-percent retroactive raises, followed by a 1.5 percent pay hike effective April 6, a 2.5-percent wage increase the following April and a 3-percent increase in 2017.
