Teamsters Local 237 President Greg Floyd and Manhattan Assemblyman Keith Wright said Jan. 29 that they would support a state takeover of the Housing Authority if the de Blasio administration didn’t reconsider “heavy-handed” plans to develop market-rate housing on its property conditioned on those developments including some low-income units.
“I am seriously considering putting forward legislation that the State of New York would look at taking over New York City public housing,” said Mr. Wright, who chairs the Assembly’s Housing Committee.
