Liberal Council Member Declares for Queens DA

City Councilman Rory Lancman announced Sept. 25 that he would run for Queens District Attorney next year, hoping to win the seat that has been held by Richard A. Brown since 1991.

Mr. Brown, 85, responded that he wouldn’t decide until sometime next year whether he would run again.  Because of his health problems, some officials—including Mr. Lancman, as he remarked in an interview on NY1's "Inside City Hall"expect Mr. Brown to retire at the end of his current term.
