The new president of the union that represents Traffic and Sanitation Enforcement Agents wants more money for his members, but he’s not averse to accepting the 11-percent-over-seven-years city pattern for uniformed workers if the additional pay is provided another way.
Syed Rahim is taking aim at the lack of pay steps for experienced agents. Agents at Level I start at $29,000. They go to $33,000 after two years, and that’s the final step. Agents promoted to Level II get $36,000, and that’s it until they retire or are upgraded again.
