The ringleader among four Rikers Island inmates who severely beat a Correction Officer at Rikers Island last year was sentenced March 27 to 10 years in prison, the Bronx District Attorney said.
The assault left Correction Officer Jean Roston Souffrant with a fractured spinal column after being set upon by the quartet inside the George Motchan Detention Center in February 2018.
