Georgia M. Pestana was named last week to the number-two position in the city Department of Law, one of three executive changes announced by Corporation Counsel Zachary Carter.
She replaced Jeffrey D. Friedlander as First Assistant Corporation Counsel. Mr. Friedlander retired June 30 after 20 years in the post and 44 years at the Law Department.
