A former top Department of Citywide Administrative Services official who claims he was fired for testifying truthfully to prosecutors about two major de Blasio administration fiascoes has the right to depose Mayor de Blasio in his wrongful-termination lawsuit if evidence emerges that the Mayor had a role in his dismissal, a Federal Judge in Manhattan ruled April 25.
“If the Mayor was somehow involved in the decision to terminate Mr. Morales, then there’s a very strong argument the Mayor should be deposed,” U.S. District Judge John Koeltl stated in a hearing on the claim by former DCAS Deputy Commissioner Ricardo Morales.
