Judge Orders NYCHA To Lengthen List for Apartment Inspections

A Manhattan Supreme Court judge ruled April 17 that the embattled Housing Authority must re-inspect thousands of apartments for lead-paint that were left unchecked between 2012 and 2016.

Justice Carol Edmead approved the request made in the lawsuit by the tenant group Citywide Council of Presidents, and ordered the agency to identify the units that did not receive the mandatory inspections and check them within 90 days.
