Despite the fact that thousands of FBI agents and other Federal first-responders played a critical role in the World Trade Center response and recovery, only 1,000 of the 30,000 applicants to the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund are Federal employees, according to the fund’s Special Master, Rupa Bhattacharyya.
She made that disclosure at a Sept. 7 9/11 WTC Health Forum that was tailored to current and retired FBI agents and keynoted by FBI Director Christopher Wray at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
