Earlier this month, for the second time since last summer, a false report of an active shooter set off a mass panic at a critical city transportation hub. Yet, unlike the earlier event at JFK Airport last August, when no one was hurt, in this stampede at Penn Station 16 people were injured.
During the Good Friday evening rush hour at Penn Station, the use of a Taser by an Amtrak Police Officer to subdue a reportedly emotionally-disturbed person was blown up, via social media, into a purported live-shooter incident at nearby Herald Square.
