Frustration was evident in “Inside City Hall” anchor Errol Louis’s reaction Oct. 22 to Mayor de Blasio’s cancellation for a second week of his “Mondays With the Mayor” segment on NY1 in which he submits to a lengthy interview on a variety of topics.
The Mayor previously cited the ongoing strike pitting Local 3 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers against Charter Communications, the parent company of the all-news cable channel. That battle, which is now in its 18th month, also prompted U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to withdraw from a scheduled Oct. 21 debate with her Republican challenger, Chele Farley. (It was subsequently held on Oct. 26 on WABC-TV, but with its length cut in half from the hour NY1 planned to devote, and the broadcast took place during the afternoon rather than NY1’s Sunday-evening slot that figured to attract a bigger audience.
