Ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg stole the show Nov. 10 at the annual Al Smith charity dinner with a series of comic lines about various political headliners who have provided an abundance of material lately.
Some of his best stuff focused on New York’s version of The Odd Couple, Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo, and the seething feud between them that broke into the open late last June when the Mayor expressed bafflement at why Mr. Cuomo persisted in treating him shabbily and accused him of engaging in “vendettas” over slights both real and imagined. (The Governor has since patched up quarrels he was engaged in with leading state elected officials and fellow Democrats in order to focus all his energy on taking bites out of Mr. de Blasio at every opportunity.)
