The President reiterated June 18 that he would not apologize for the full-page ads he ran in four city newspapers 30 years ago calling for restoration of the death penalty in New York in the wake of the brutal assault and rape of a jogger in Central Park that was allegedly committed by five black and Latino teenagers.
