After Mayor de Blasio’s pre-Fourth of July fireworks against Governor Cuomo, there were no bombs bursting in air last week, with his target suggesting that any Mayor who thought he engaged in “vendettas” didn’t know him very well while insisting Hizzoner had merely suffered the vicissitudes of the two-party system in Albany.
Mr. de Blasio, upon returning from a family vacation, insisted the city hadn’t fared quite as well as the Governor maintained, but did so minus the barbed rhetoric he unleashed a week earlier.
