For The Record

The good news for Mayor de Blasio in a Quinnipiac University poll released Jan. 19 was that 50 percent of those surveyed approved of his job performance while 42 percent didn’t—a 9-point swing from late October—and 48 percent said he deserved a second term while 44 percent dissented, for a swing of 10 points in his favor.

The bad news was that while he has gained support from Latino voters, his standing remains low among white respondents, with just 27 percent approving of his job performance while 67 percent give him a thumbs-down. That’s a 1-point drop in positive response from Quinnipiac’s Oct. 29 poll and a 2-point jump in those viewing the Mayor negatively.
