Governor Cuomo apparently has pushed the envelope too far in his crusade for school “reforms” if a Quinnipiac University poll released March 18 accurately reflects public sentiment statewide.
The survey of 1,228 state voters was released just as talks were intensifying on his proposed changes, which he has said he wants addressed as part of the state budget for the fiscal year that starts April 1. It appears they are the biggest factor in a negative swing of 15 points in his approval rating, from 58 percent liking his job performance to 32 percent dissenting back in December to the 50-percent thumbs-up and 39-percent thumbs-down he got last week.
