Less than a week after Mayor de Blasio during his rebuttal at the Inner Circle Show used comedian Louis CK as a kind of translator to express his contempt for the media, two small-but-important stories dramatized the tension between the administration and those who cover it.
The first one involved a front-page Post piece April 1 that cited unidentified sources claiming that Police Commissioner Bill Bratton erupted in anger two days earlier when First Deputy Mayor Tony Shorris told him he wouldn’t be getting the 1,000 additional cops he claims he needs.
