It’s no secret that a key element in Governor Cuomo’s resounding primary victory over Cynthia Nixon was his ability to spend $25 million his campaign had raised—roughly 10 times what his challenger had mustered, leaving her with limited ability to run TV ads at the same time that his spots were bombarding viewers on both news programs and ballgames.

It is expected that he will have a similar financial advantage in the general election against Republican opponent Marc Molinaro unless polls suddenly show a major jump in the latter’s support after a Siena College survey released Oct. 1 gave the Governor a 22-point lead.
