The NYPD started its long-awaited pilot program for body cameras April 27 at the 34th Precinct in Upper Manhattan despite controversy over the draft policy for using them.
Fifty officers will be wearing cameras, Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill said at a press conference at the precinct with Mayor de Blasio and Deputy Commissioner Ben Tucker.
