The combined impact of President Trump’s Federal hiring freeze and the previous elimination of close to a third of the IRS’s personnel could leave Americans frustrated this tax season, warns Tony Reardon, president of the National Treasury Employees Union. NTEU represents 160,000 workers across dozens of Federal agencies.
“We are extremely concerned that many Americans…that ordinarily get their refunds are going to be a bit concerned if they don’t receive their refunds on time or in the expeditious manner they have in the past,” Mr. Reardon said in a wide-ranging phone interview with THE CHIEF-LEADER.
