Former State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos was sentenced Oct. 24 to 4 years and 3 months in Federal prison for using his legislative powers to extort money and jobs from businessmen on behalf of his troubled son.
The son, Adam Skelos, 36, was sentenced in a separate proceeding to 4 years. U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood told the elder Skelos, 70, that in testifying on his own behalf, “your repeated mischaracterizations and lies about your conduct warrant a three-month enhancement.” She also fined him $500,000.
