The former president of the union representing Special Inspectors at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority was indicted last week on Federal charges of embezzling union funds.
John Earvin, 67, of New Rochelle, was president of the United Federation of Law Enforcement Officers from 2007 to 2010. He had sole control of the union’s bank account, according to the office of U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
