A former NYPD cop who earned $1.6 million working at a renowned Manhattan strip club after leaving the force in 1997 with a disability claim pleaded guilty April 15 to theft and tax-evasion charges, the office of United States Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said.
Gerard Scparta, of Orange County, faces up to about three years in jail when he is sentenced July 16. He also agreed to pay back the $638,586 he earned in Social Security disability benefits and nearly $88,000 in back taxes.
