A former basketball coach at Baruch College has admitted to embezzling more than $700,000 that outside parties paid to rent the school’s gym.
Machli Joseph, 43, worked as an athletic-department official at the City University of New York school between 2002 and 2016, serving as a coach for both the men’s and women’s teams and handling other departmental duties. When Baruch’s teams weren’t scheduled to play, the Associate Athletic Director controlled when Baruch’s gym could be rented to others.
