DRILLING FOR WORST CASE: The Fire Department HazMat Operations ran a live training demonstration with the U.S. Army at a church in Times Square July 9 and July 10, simulating a response to an incident in New York City involving a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear explosive device. ‘The exercise presented an opportunity for the department and our Federal partners to train side by side in challenging urban conditions in the case of a potential emergency, to continue our mission of keeping New Yorkers safe,’ the FDNY said in a statement.
