Mayor de Blasio’s effort to close the racial disparity in marijuana arrests is a failure, the Police Reform Organizing Project said last week.
Citing statistics from the State Division of Criminal Justice Services, PROP Director Robert Gangi said 93 percent of misdemeanor arrests for marijuana possession for the first nine months of this year were of people of color.
