As the Administration for Children Services faces a potential $129-million budget gap, State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli released an audit that revealed the agency fell short in its oversight of foster children.
The report, released March 8, reviewed case files for 48 foster children from July 1, 2014 through Aug. 31, 2016 to determine whether the agency conducted required visits. There are 9,000 city children in foster care.
