The State Senate voted unanimously Jan. 21 to confirm former Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore as the state’s Chief Judge.
Ms. DiFiore, 60, replaces Jonathan Lippman, who left at the end of December after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. She is a political ally of Governor Cuomo, who nominated her, having served for 16 months as the first Chair of the Joint Commission on Public Ethics.
