An Oct. 11 mass-mailer sent out by the de Blasio administration’s Chief Democracy Officer intended to alert voters who faced elimination from the rolls prompted more questions than answers, according to City Comptroller Scott Stringer.
Under the direction of Ayirini Fonseca-Sabune, the city used voter data it bought from Civis Analytics, an independent contractor, that purportedly identified 400,000 voters whose names had fallen off the active voting rolls.
