Definition of Insanity: Feds Eyeing Private Tax-Collectors Again

In recent years, the Federal government tried using private tax collectors twice—and each time it lost millions in revenue.

That was National Treasury Employees Union President Tony Reardon’s message in a Nov. 3 conference call with reporters in which he slammed a new proposal to do it again. He also called for the restoration of funds for the Internal Revenue Service, which has lost nearly $1.2 billion in five years.
