City unions that fractured their support in the Democratic primary among the four top candidates began uniting behind Bill de Blasio last week, with District Council 37, Teamsters Local 237 and others endorsing the Democratic nominee.
Mr. de Blasio attracted comparatively little support in the primary campaign, with the mostly private-sector SEIU Local 1199 and the Professional Staff Congress his most-prominent backers, but with the voting over, most civilian unions said that the priority was to advance a progressive Democrat to City Hall.
