CUNY Researchers Tell Foundation: No Reason for Requested Givebacks

Employees of the City University of New York’s Research Foundation staged a one-day strike July 1, saying its management is seeking unfair concessions in collective bargaining and targeting “the unborn” for deep benefit and pay cuts.

Marching in pouring rain outside the Research Foundation building on West 41st St., the Professional Staff Congress members, who are allowed to strike without triggering Taylor Law penalties because they are considered private employees, said their bosses were dragging their feet more than six months after their last contract expired.
